1. Do not try autopatching until it is safe to do so.
Each week there's a maintenance. When that maintenance occurs, close Flyff completely. Do not leave the login screen up. Close it out. Leave it off.

Before you try to run Flyff, check the forum. The GMs/CM post a maintenance thread in the global announcements whenever there's a maintenance. When the maintenance is over, he posts a final message and locks this thread. THIS IS YOUR CUE. Only at THIS time is it safe to try patching and logging in.

2. For those of you people that added a particular word to your Flyff.exe shortcut [you know who you are and why you did it] there's a very good chance that this is causing you problems. It can interfere with the patcher. Remove it. It's a violation anyway. I'll ask/answer no more questions about this.

3. If you still have problems and the manual patch doesn't work for you, please email flyff_support@gala-net.com for further assistance.

If you don't copy the file at the right place you will have a "mismatch error"

Oh ya O_o didn't see Ryuu used unzip to gpotato folder so set it to unpack in flyff folder :/

Filefront has changed the way they do things, which is quite annoying. It seems my guide.html file has been deleted too. I'll try and find/make a new one tonight.

And yes, the self-extracting archive (.exe) unzips by default to C:\Program Files\Gpotato\Flyff, and the Zip file I just have a folder called Flyff inside, so people can just copy/paste the whole Flyff folder, overwriting the one in their Gpotato folder.


For people having problems still; make sure you unzip/extract after running the patcher but before hitting the start button on it. Otherwise the patcher will just replace with outdated files.

no... No message at all... once the game guard thingy is out it will shut off FlyFF and back to my desktop with nothing

If you weren't getting the mismatch error message originally, you don't need the manual patch at all. The patch is only for those who have a game telling them their files are mismatched. The patch replaces their outdated files with the new ones.

If you're having a problem getting FlyFF to work properly, here's a few basic generic things you can try to get it working again. Any technical support related threads will be locked and referred to this post.

If the tips below do not solve your problem, then please contact flyff_support@gala-net.com for personalized assistance with your issue.

1. Restart your computer.
It's amazing what simply restarting your computer will actually fix sometimes. Windows is by no means perfect.

2. Run Antivirus and Antispyware scans
There's so many little nasty things that can cause GameGuard to shut the game down on you. For spyware, I recommend Spybot Search & Destroy or Ad-Aware. If you don't have an antivirus program, the popular free ones out there are Avira, Avast!and AVG.
Run full scans of both types, fix the problems that are identified, and restart your computer before trying FlyFF again.

3. Add, or remove/re-add FlyFF to your firewall exceptions
If you're having trouble connecting, especially after a recent maintenance, you may need to open up your firewall program, and find the trusted programs/exceptions list for programs that it will ignore/allow through. Add Flyff.exe and Neuz.exe to that list. If they are already present, remove them and add them back again. These files are usually located in C:\Program Files\Gpotato\Flyff\ by default.

4. Delete the GameGuard folder
If your FlyFF client closes down whilst GameGuard is loading, and the above measures haven't worked, try deleting your GameGuard folder. This is located in in C:\Program Files\Gpotato\Flyff\GameGuard\ by default. Deleting this folder will prompt a new copy to be downloaded from the remote server.

Go to My Computer, right-click your C: drive, select Properties. Under the Tools tab, Error-Checking section, click the Check Now button. Select both boxes for automatically fixing and scanning/recovering bad sectors.

Click Start, and it will probably tell you that you need to restart your computer to run it, and ask if you want to run when you next restart... click Yes, then proceed to restart.

When windows loads, it will run through chkdsk and fix any file corruption errors on your system. It'll take a few minutes.

I tried everything including reinstalling Flyff.. before patch was working fine.. after patch its wont works...

Once gameguard is on Autenicating it exit flyff and back to my desktop....

Can anyone help me?
