FlyFF Cloak Design Contest (Sept 21 – Oct 5, 2009)



Here’s your chance to design your own cloak and we’ll turn it into an in-game cloak in FlyFF. From Now until Oct 5 we’ll be accepting designs. Please post them in the official FlyFF Cloak Design Contest thread in our forums (this thread).

Guidelines:

You can submit as many images as you like (within reason). Try to keep your submissions below 10 per person, please. Images can be hand drawn (and scanned) or made with an image creation application (like Photoshop or Illustrator). Please do not make the images too small or too large. We recommend an image size about 256 x 256 pixels (when rasterized).

General Rules (for more details on Rules, please see following post in this thread with the heading "Official Rules FlyFF Cloak Design Contest"):

All images (“Entry/Entries”), including any text and typography, must be original and of the submitter’s own creation. All Entries submitted for this contest are owned solely and exclusively by Gala-Net, its licensors or its affiliates, and are protected by applicable U.S. laws and regulations, and international treaties relating to copyrights, trademarks, and other intellectual property rights. By submitting an Entry, the submitter transfers all ownership rights in the Entry, including but not limited to intellectual property rights (such as copyright and trademark), to Gala-net.

Three (3) winning images will be chosen by the FlyFF Team to be made into in-game cloaks. The people who submitted the winning Entries will receive an in-game cloak for free (the one they submitted) on an existing FlyFF account and character. The winning cloaks will also be made available to all FlyFF players for purchase in the Premium Shop after the launch of Version 14 this year (2009).

Please keep in mind that the image must fit on an in-game cloak, so it must look clear even when reduced in size. Also note, that the final images that appear on the in-game cloaks may not be exact copies of the winning Entries submitted. This is because the Entries may require some modification to fit properly onto an in-game cloak.

Official Rules FlyFF Cloak Design Contest:

By entering the FlyFF Cloak Design Contest (the Contest) you agree to be bound by these Official Rules:

1. ELIGIBILITY.
Open to all players who are 13 (thirteen) years of age or older at the time of entry. Void wherever prohibited by law. Employees of Gala-Net, their affiliates, parent companies, participating vendors, subsidiaries and advertising and promotion agencies, and anyone working directly on this program, product and promotion and the immediate family members or those living in the same household of each (Sponsor and Administrators) are not eligible to enter.

2. CONTEST DESCRIPTION.
The object is to submit images for the chance to have the submitter’s image used as an in-game FlyFF Cloak. This Contest is conducted in the United States of America and is governed by California law, and by entering you agree to accept jurisdiction and venue in the Courts of the State of California, U.S.A.

3. ENTRY CRITERIA
All entries submitted must be original, must not have been previously published, released or distributed for commercial use and must have been created and owned exclusively by the entrant submitting the creation. All submissions may be posted on a publicly accessible web site following the contest. Gala-Net disclaims any and all liability for any infringement of any 3rd parties rights in any submission caused by any entrant.

4. JUDGING:
A panel of FlyFF GMs (Judges) will review eligible entries and select the three (3) winners based upon the following criteria, each to be weighted equally:
(a) Concept
(b) Originality
(c) Visual Impact
(d) Visual Clarity when reduced to the size of an in-game cloak
Judges will announce the winners, on or about Oct 6, 2009. The decisions of these judges are final and binding.

5. RIGHTS TO USE ENTRIES.
All artwork submitted for this contest is owned solely and exclusively by Gala-Net, its licensors or its affiliates, and are protected by applicable U.S. laws and regulations, and international treaties relating to copyrights, trademarks, and other intellectual property rights. Under no circumstance will you obtain any ownership interest in any such proprietary subject matter pursuant to these Terms of Service or otherwise.

6. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION.
This Contest is void where prohibited. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for Sponsor and Administrators to use that winner's name, likeness, picture and Entry without additional compensation for promoting the contest unless and where prohibited by law. By entering this Contest you agree to and hereby release and hold harmless Sponsor and Administrators from any and all liability or any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with your participation in this Contest, or any prize. If you do not want to grant the foregoing release, please do not enter the Contest. Gala-Net reserves the right to request proof of age of any contestant that submits a work for consideration in the contest.

Your entry must be your own original work. By submitting your Entry in the Contest, you represent and warrant that it is your sole original work, and that you have obtained any and all consents, approvals or licenses required for you to submit your Entry and comply with all of these Official Rules, including obtaining the written consent of all 3rd parties, where applicable. You waive any claim of infringement (including without limitation copyright, trademark, patent, trade name, trade secret, etc.) against the Sponsor and Administrators or their licensees based upon access to or use of your Entry. In the event of any dispute regarding who is the entrant that submitted an email Entry, the potential winner must provide sponsor with proof that the potential winner is the authorized account holder of the forum account and e-mail address associated with the potentially winning Entry.

7. LIMITATION ON LIABILITY.
Sponsor is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by website users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of Entries. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries.

Sponsor and Administrators are not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line-systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of email on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or combination thereof, including injury or damage to participants or to any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating or downloading materials in this Contest. If, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsor or Administrators, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest, Sponsor reserves the right at their sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify the or suspend the Contest.

8. OTHER.
Illegible, unintelligible or incomplete entries will be disqualified. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY A CONTESTANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSORS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH CONTESTANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Without limiting the foregoing, Sponsor may disqualify any entrants from the Contest who deliberately damage, tamper with or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest.

to be honnest... i don t have understand a lot (french here XD).
but if, as i think i ve understand, you will use this pic... do it !!

Was just pointing out that, for the patcher contest (for example), we had a template. We knew exactly what was gonna get rounded, masked etc.
We could use something like that for the cloaks, too, so the devs don't stretch/skew them and find out they're losing the details! D:

They'll likely be those of the "usual" cs capes, such as 100hp/10% speed, since they're planning on releasing them in the CS later on.
