Attack Speed Breaks for: Assist, Billposter and Ringmaster

Postby sospendejo » Thu Jul 06, 2006 1:36 pm

Okay as I was wondering and I imagine a lot of people also were wondering what is going on, how do I use the speed break calculator, after several weeks testing and retesting I came with this Speed Breaks, this are the exact leaps the Assit, Billposter and Ringmaster. I know Ringmasters don't attack but anyways I decided to leave them with the Knuckle and the stick.
http://vptr.hp.infoseek.co.jp/Aspd.html

Assist Leaps in attack speed (Knuckle - Stick)
At 45 Dex - 64 Dex
At 81 Dex - 114 Dex
At 116 Dex - 164 Dex
At 152 Dex - 214 Dex

Billposter Leaps in attack speed (Knuckle - Stick)
At 27 Dex - 64 Dex
At 63 Dex - 114 Dex
At 99 Dex - 164 Dex
At 134 Dex - 214 Dex

Ringmaster Leaps in attack speed (Knuckle - Stick)
At 45 Dex - 64 Dex
At 81 Dex - 114 Dex
At 116 Dex - 164 Dex
At 152 Dex - 214 Dex

Speed break is a leap in the change of your attack speed, when an assist buffs up with the Cannonball your Dex gets buffed, gets + added, so at some point each character has a speed break... you will notice the difference when you attack.

This is for characters or guys that want to go the Dex way, that means speed attacks like Blades or Billiposters and Acrobats.

So speed break is a leap or jump from a light speed to a faster speed... like from .8 to .9, that is a huge speed break leap!

Speed Break is when your character increases the speed of attack considerably... in other words, there is an increase of more than 8 points in the attack speed, so the character becomes faster quicker and the critical hits start appearing more and more... mostly is used for Attack rate, so in 3 seconds you can hit a monster X times, the speedbreak helps you increase that X number so you hit the monster in those exact 3 seconds more times than you did previously.

Example
Dex is N: X is (example) 3 in 3 seconds
Dex is N+30: X is (example) 6 in 3 seconds

This is just an example and is not accurate so please this is just made fo ryou to understand what this means on Speedbreak.

wait so for a speed break to work, it has to be that exact DEX? like for the BP, i would have my dex at 63 for the speed break to work? and what if i get buffed, and it adds more to my dex? would the speed break work? im quite confused.

Makes no difference. The game will recognize and register the speed break the second you hit the required amount of Dex. this can come from your own ex points or Assist/Ringmaster buffs that get you there. If you go over, it makes no difference since you met or crossed that Dex threshold for Speed Break.

For example, my Dex Assist has 80 DEX right now. According to the chart, if I add just one more dex point through leveling or with Cannonball, I will hit the RM/Assist Speed Break at 81 Dex, regardless if I go over to 85 Dex. As long as your Dex is 81 or more you will hit the speed break. if it was because of a buff, it is only temporary. if it because of your Dex points, you have it for good til the next speed break. hope this helps. =] 8)

PS...if this chart is accurate, i recommend it going for a Sticky. if nothing else to prevent other topics that this one will cover totally. Chris? =]

Sticky this now please.

I know that personally I have referred to this chart numerous times to check when my next leap in speed is. I bet there are tons of people on this board who would love to have this information.

Sticky.

I think they need to pay attention to this. Not everything can be stickied but this is not a "typical or common" thread.

Billposter Leaps in attack speed (Knuckle - Stick)
At 27 Dex - 64 Dex
At 63 Dex - 114 Dex
At 99 Dex - 164 Dex
At 134 Dex - 214 Dex

i dont understand what this means,

at 27 dex - 64 dex? what? and then why does the next section start at 1 dex LOWER than the end of the last one

the next one starts at 63 dex, well if the last one was at 64 dex, how does the next one start before it??? parallell universes?

i think its the dash numbers i dont understand.

i thought atkspd breaks would be like

at 27 dex you get a break THEN at dex X you get a break, i dont understand have two dex figures with a dash between them.

to me that means at somewhere between (what the dash means) 27 dex and 64 dex there is a speed break.

Knuckles are on the left side of the dash, and sticks are on the right.

How about the equipment which add DEX ? if I had the exact DEX for speedbreaks but I equipt the equipment which adds DEX so that the total of my DEX isn't the same or not the exact number of speed breaks requirement, do the speedbreaks still working too ? Or not ?

About this speedbreak, is it a bug in this game ? Or it's the one of the gameplay ? Will it still be remain when the newer version comes out ?

Speed Break is like a bonus for adding dex. Same as adding 1% Critical Rate for every 10 points (5 character levels) of Dex you add to your stats. It's not a bug. It's just a cetain point in the game that, rather than gettign 1% ASPD bonus for adding a certain amount of Dex (like the crit rate), you get 5% bonus at one squeeze. 5% may not seem a lot but when you slap on your weapon, you will see where that 5% goes. Especially if you have high-level Haste and have high-level Cannonball and the good fortune of having mastered GT cast on you. Speed breaks are good, especially when buffs aren't readily available. =]
